Yea I travel a bit, and I like talking about how they travel to gleen what kind of person they are. Like big cities? Do they take transit? What kind of activities? Lodging? Adventurous with food? Planned /spontaneous?
But at the same time, I typically move on to non-travel based chat pretty quickly. So I agree with the spirit of the comic.

10·1 month agoAs a counterpoint, your salary is mainly a reflection on how much profit can be made by your skillset/location at a given point in time. I’m not a fan of tying people’s worth to their profitability. It’s devoid of any type of ethical concern.
If we as a society tie profitability to societal good, then I’ll be on board.

11·3 months agoSo sure, you can be selfish. But even with a selfish attitude, ignoring responsibilities can have an impact on you. You’re taking a risk, is it worth the potential consequences? Up to you. And yes, you can look at others and see some people get away with shit. But that doesn’t imply you will.
On top of being selfish, you’ll need a large ego to truly believe you will never have serious consequences.
My local library has Bluray as well.

[Moved to Piefed] Ask@lemm.ee•Would you rather have 2 million dollars now or 100k a year for the rest of your life? All tax freeEnglish
10·7 months agoThere’s a chance you die and that 2 mil will go to someone else vs your payments just stop.
The 100k isn’t matching inflation so you gain less wealth every year versus your potential 2 mil investment matching or beating inflation.
I think the only real reason to do the 100k a year is if you’re not very financially responsible. Which has been the case for many lottery winners.
Edit: Personally not a fan of hoarding wealth outside enough for retirement/security.

There are studies that have shown staying indoors leads to bad eyesight. Combination of lack of UV and focusing on close up things. So there is some truth to sitting close to the TV is bad, even if it was only by accident. https://www.clinicaltrialsarena.com/analyst-comment/time-indoors-shortsightedness/?cf-view
But also, glasses exist. It’s not a major issue.
