Human innovation scales up quite well. Some people were lucky enough to have a say on the design of this systems that changed the world. It’s unfortunate that they let greed erode their humanity.

Maybe, in this fantasy world, you can port your address to different branches the same way you might transfer your phone number between carriers. My phone number area code reflects where I lived when I got my first phone. It does not correspond with where I currently live. The same could be true of email addresses in this scenario.

I use Arctic on iOS, and the web interface on desktop
That’s what I get for being a hater 🤣
AGI apparently doesn’t mean anything anymore

Cutting off the supply of chips via tariffs and constricting federal funds to foundries isn’t going to magically make the country a semiconductor powerhouse. We’ve got the capability to build fabrication sites, sure. What we need is a workforce—people with graduate degrees in electrical and computer engineering. And that’s going to take time. This whole ordeal is sloppy and embarrassing

When the Internet came about, people had similar reservations about the quality of information, and most of us learned in school how to find quality information online.
LLMs are a tool, and people need to learn how to use them correctly and responsibly. I’ve been using Perplexity.AI as a search engine for a while now, and I think they’re taking the right approach. It employs LLMs at different stages to parse your query, perform web searches on your behalf, and summarize findings. It provides in-text citations as well, which is an opportunity for a media-literate person to confirm the validity of anything important.

I’ve been allergic to pet dander my whole life, and I will usually break out in hives just from being in the same room as someone who owns a dog. Yet, I’m still expected to pretend that I love their precious furry angel. Lately, I just let people know that couldn’t be further from the truth. That said, I absolutely adore cats. But I’m just as allergic and would never own one.

That said, I do hate the lack of image support. A low-res black-and-white image would be better than none at all…
It works for images as well. Another useful macOS feature I use every day is the OCR built into the system apps, including QuickLook
