Based on everything else they have done ignoring legality, I have very little faith they won’t just start doing it anyways.

I wouldn’t worry too much about it. It sounds like he is very shy and inexperienced. It’s probably just excitement/nerves. You can ask if he likes hugging or if he’d prefer something else. If he says he likes it, I wouldn’t bring it up anymore.

You deserve a relationship that does not negatively impact your mental well-being.

Of course you still have feelings and want her back. It hasn’t been enough time to process and grieve the end of your relationship. You can’t just jump from a 7 year relationship to friendship with the snap of your fingers. Give it 6 months to a year before you start talking. Maybe even longer.

I once took a detour to Silver City, NM just because of this movie. Spoiler alert: it is nothing like the Silver City portrayed in the movie.

But seriously, as a kid this was the movie that if I came across it showing on tv I had to stop and watch it. It never stopped being funny.
