because most of them are actually conservatives. the democratic party is a party of conservatives. the republican party has gone full on fascist.
the only real change would come from progressives, but there are very few of them and conservative democrats treat them like lepers.

Anyone paying attention when the DNC hamstrung Bernie in favor of Hildawg back in 2016 has been aware of the very small number of wealthy elites pulling strings on the supposed left, and that goes a longer way back for the right.
The sharp turn toward fascism began with Trump as far as I can tell, but the Bush and Reagan era of Republican rule - in particular the Cheney/Rumsfeld influence - really set the table for this.
That fact that the Cheneys were Team Joy last time around tells you all you need to know about the state of politics in the United States right now.
You mean the same Democratic party that is trying to oust a DNC vice chair because he dared to say we shouldn’t have 70 year olds running unopposed in primaries?
The Democratic party right now isn’t the answer. They’re the GOP with less fascism.
Too many of our politicians are in the ballgame to make money. And the vast majority aren’t doing a lot to fight back the Republicans and Trump because they feel it gives them an easy mode to campaign the next time they’re up for reelection.
