A lot of my friends have been out of work for a while. It’s really not looking good, and we’re all wondering what’s the point of living in LA anymore.

It doesn’t help that they insist on shooting garbage that no one wants to watch half the time. We don’t need live action remakes make new shit. Take risks. Instead of one huge budget movie split the pot up and make ten low budget wingits.

We need high quality FUN movies.

We either get high quality depressing ass shit you can’t watch more than once, or fun low quality garbage.

Why can’t we just get good fun 90 minute movies anymore? It’s all either Oscar bait bullshit depressing drama or 2h of nonsense with endless tropes.

Its an industry that can’t survive anywhere. Just like the music industry, video has been democratized and is no longer under control of a few elite execs. Foreign writers have broken through all the tropes that made Hollywood product turn into tired remakes of the same five stories all edited to fit the same Harvey Weinstein format. Welcome to the 21st century bros

So, basically another article that argues, “In order for this to work, a few people have to make obscene amounts of money, while the rest of you have to live like slaves. It just won’t work any other way.”
