A lot of my friends have been out of work for a while. It’s really not looking good, and we’re all wondering what’s the point of living in LA anymore.
I think HBO had it right with their 13 episode shows. There’s just enough time for a rich, fulfilling arc, while not feeling rushed.
When it shrunk to 10, we managed it well, but always wanted one more episode. When it dropped to eight, suddenly there was no room to breathe.
Now with them creeping down to 6 & 7, I’m wondering why I even bother investing in a show.
TLOU is kind of frustrating. Season one had 10 episodes (two got squished together as a 90min pilot after they shot them, and that’s why it came out to 9). But season two’s seven measly episodes? Why adapt a show if you’re not even going to explore the story and characters in new ways? There’s no time to do that in seven episodes.
So yeah, when I watch these older shows like sopranos, wire, deadwood… I’m like “hell yeah, this is the sweet spot.” Oh add Andor to that list. 12 worked well for the structure of that show. Both seasons.
Woah. I thought they were wrapping it up this week.
Great show. Can’t wait for the next chapter.
I would find it ‘moral’ to throw Mike off something, as well.
Sadly, without Pedro, the weight of this show is left on Bella’s shoulders. They’re a strong actor, but Ellie has not been written well this season. I hate to say that, as I have been a Craig Mazin fan ever since Chernobyl.
It was made all too clear when we got the flashback episode with Joel. Everything felt right again. And I’m not saying that because Joel was back. But because Pedro and Bella are THAT good together.
I think that the flashbacks should have been spread throughout the season so we never lost Joel’s voice in our ear, and we could keep seeing those sad eyes of his. It would have covered the multitude of sins we’ve seen in the pacing of this second season.
Baby needs to go down for a nap.
Holy shit this doesn’t come back until August 21st?? They’ve really been pushing it like the premiere was weeks away.
Drug addiction is sad, but I make an exception for this asshole. I’d love to see him spiral during a blunder-filled campaign. I’ll love to see all the byproducts, like an Eric scandal manufactured to make Jr look better by comparison. I want the quicksand of their fickle, mob of an electorate to engulf this family.
He does a press conference with stacks of unopened decks of cards on a table.
I’d rather 1790s France do a popup, but I’ll settle for Rage.
They all deserve Emmys, but this year will be stacked with some incredible shows. It’s gonna be an upset regardless, I feel.
I bet Neil has ideas for a third game, but I doubt he’d want the show to tell that story before the game did. I could be wrong, though. Maybe he’s good with not making a third game, but co-writing with Craig.
IIRC they also have content they cut (like the Jackson stuff), so maybe there’s more material already sitting around.
I watched what I assume was a meth lab burn the underpass of a major bridge near my apartment in 2023. Then just a couple weeks ago, only a few days away from the two-year anniversary, it happened again.
We need to support people. Otherwise, we will vilify them. The sad fact is, this is a result of decades of destruction, and there doesn’t seem to be any willpower to do the hard thing anymore.
It’s enough to make you want to walk into the ocean.
The Collider interview this article references is a much better read.
I understand the knee jerk reaction with GOT in hindsight, but I doubt they would extend much beyond the game’s end. I think it’s more about filling out the story with more of the world.
If you think about where this season has gone and where the focus has been, you might infer how season three will be written, and where that might end under the assumption there is a fourth season. We just don’t know yet.
Also there seems to be a lot of factions stuff being set up that might fill out 3 & 4.
They didn’t even try to make me watch a trailer for this. Sounds like an easy weekend binge.
Most modern vehicles know where you are regardless of whether or not you’re paying for any location-based services.
OP, why is this post titled, “(….)”?
