Similar to what happened in 1958, when a Taiwanese F-86 fired an American-made AIM-9 Sidewinder at a Chinese MiG-17. The missile hit the MiG, but failed to detonate. The MiG landed with the Sidewinder still lodged in it. The USSR was able to buy it off of the Chinese and reverse engineer it, putting their version into production as the K-13.
Came down intact…sounds like a high quality munition.
Yeah because that never happens with anyone else
That is a big, big deal.
On one hand … reverse engineering opportunity. On the other… I’d not like to be the guy tasked with disassembly.
